So it has been crazy hot here the past couple of days so Saturday we got our little pool out for the kids. It was around 98 that day so it was the perfect day for a swim. Today isn't quite so hot, but hot enough to play in some nice cool water, but when I looked outside to check on the pool...

A Busy Summer So Far
So what a busy month we've had. Between working on the house, swimming lessons, playing outside, and doing all the regular stuff I am all tuckered out. The house is almost ready, just a little bit of work in the guest bath and the decking and we'll be done with the fix it jobs. I have a few more things to pack up in boxes but that won't take too long. Since we don't know how long it will take to sell we aren't going hog wild on the packing. Who knows, maybe we will end up just renting it. Only time will tell.
Father's Day was nice. The sun decided to come out, we grilled up some nice juicy New York steaks, and just spent some good quality time together as a family. Brandon wore the tie Ærowyn created for him at church. That is such a cute idea. We still have last year's tie and I just love looking at them. I will have to get some pics of them up here.
One fun thing we did this month is go to the Strawberry Festival here in Marysville. After Brandon got home from Kung Fu we packed up the car and headed off to the car show. We taught Ærowyn about engines and wheelie bars. We saw some pretty neat cars. We didn't take pics of the cars so if you click on the link above it will only show pics of the kids. Then we walked around all the tent sales. There is always fun stuff to look at b
ut we only wanted one thing...old fashioned lemon-ade and boy was it super yummy especially to compliment the funnel cake hmmmm. We figured we'd better take Ærowyn to the carnival and boy did she have fun. That morning all she could talk about was going on a roller coaster so I'm glad they had a kid one. The kid rides were actually pretty cool. I think Wrævn would have liked to go but he is still too little. Brandon went with her in to the house of mirrors which is a good thing because she kept running into the glass walls ha ha ha. There is a picture with a big red mark on her head in the album. Next we visited Biringer Farm where Ærowyn got her face painted up like a Cheetah. I honestly didn't think she would sit for that long, but sure enough she did. The guy doing it does special effects makeup for Indy type films and we had fun talking with him. We fed some goats, saw some skeleton pirates, and just played around. Funny thing - the one thing we didn't do at the Strawberry Festival is eat Strawberries! Oh well, maybe next year.
Ærowyn is in swimming lessons and is doing awesome. She is now doing full bobs all the way under the water, putting her face under and blowing bubbles, and getting more comfortable with floating on her back and stomach. The next swim session starts next week, but we are going to take a break. I might put her in a later session in the next class...we'll see.
Wrævn is just getting busier and crazier. He will be 17 months old next month. It's crazy how fast it has flown by, but on the other hand, he's only one month away from going in to the nursery at church full time!!! I am really looking forward to that. I have been trying to acclimate him slowly over this month so we will see how he does when August comes. I have one more month to get him use to it. Ærowyn never had a problem going in and playing, but Wrævn is a little more attached to me.
For now, we are all doing great! I hope to get more albums up on our Picassa Website soon and will put a link to them so you can view them. Until next time...
