Well, Ærowyn is in her 3rd week of preschool and is of course loving it. It took a while for her to tell us about what she is learning, but we've got her trained now. Yesterday, she got to wear pj's and take her favorite stuffed animal. They learned about the nighttime. Her coloring skills have improved tenfold. She loves being with the other kids...in fact her teacher told us there are a couple of kids she can't sit by because she is a little too social...why doesn't that surprise me! (There is no way she inherited that from me ha ha ha) I am loving the alone time I get with Wrævn and all the errands I get to run with only one kid. It's amazing how a couple of hours away can be so refreshing. When asked how Ærowyn was doing in class her teacher's response was, "She is doing well. She sure has a lot of energy, but she is doing well."
We are glad she is having such a wonderful time. Click on the pic and you can see some of the fun things she has been working on.

Summer of Quick Trips
We had a wonderful end to our summer with little trips here and there. If you click on the headings they will take you to our Picasa albums.
Grubb Family Reunion
What a wonderful weekend we spent in Bend, Oregon with Brandon's family. I of course don't remember most of the names, but the laughs and hospitality will not be forgotten. We stayed with Brandon's cousin Maridee and her sweet family. Ærowyn had so much fun playing games and just running around in general. We tried to keep Wrævn from destroying things and from jumping into the many ponds on the grounds. Brandon got to chat with Uncle Don about the Philippines which he absolutely loved and now he really wants to go back more than ever. Hopefully that will be happening before next Fall. All in all it was a spectacular weekend getaway.
Blessing Baby Lance
My brother Matt and his cute wife Sara welcomed their first born into this world (previous post) and we went over Labor Day weekend to participate in the blessing of the sweet little guy. My entire family was able to be there and it was fun. We went hiking, ate super good BBQ, played at a couple of parks, played some crazy games, had lots of laughs, and had some time to relax in there as well. I love getting together with family and having Ærowyn play with her cousins because then I don't have to keep track of her every 2 minutes. We still have to check in on Wrævn often, but he had a ton of fun chasing everyone around. We caught him brushing the walls with a BBQ brush and trying to burn the house down with a lighter, but other than that he did pretty well. And of course we can't say enough about the center attraction - Lance - man is he a cute one!!
Camping
I guess if we only make it out camping once a year, the ward campout is the way to go. We have such a good activity planner in our ward and she out did herself this year. Our friend cooked a traditional Samoan pig in the ground and also some teriyaki chicken. They were both amazing. Everything was decorated up with an island feel. Ærowyn even got to make her own Lei I knew I wouldn't have to worry too much about Ærowyn because there were tons of kids to play with. We threw rocks in the river and Ærowyn even built a little sand castle, even though it just looked like a hole in the sand. Both of the kidlets were so dirty by the end of the trip we put them straight in the bathtub when we got home...after changing their clothes before we left - mainly because they were plashing in puddles and playing with the hose. I took some great video and one of these days I'm going to take the time to actually get the videos online!!! I don't think sleeping well will ever be possible with little kids in a tent, but we all got a nice huge nap this afternoon so I guess it made up for Wrævn keeping us up all night moaning, "Moooommmm" over and over again and then waking up for the day at 6:30!! If we only get to make smores once and year and have Ærowyn sing beautiful songs (of her own creation) around the campfire, and watch Wrævn find every little dirt pile to play in then it is well worth the lack of sleep to see their smiling faces. The only sad thing that happened was Ærowyn's pet worm getting torn apart by another child. She and some other kids found it in the sand and she brought it over to me telling me she wanted to keep it forever. She carried it around for around 30-45 minutes until she ran up to me in tears saying it's life had ended. It was a sad moment, but luckily she bounced back quickly.
Ærowyn starts school tomorrow and is very excited. We met her teacher last week and got to look around her classroom and she is just beaming about it. I know it will be good for her, plus I'm looking forward to a little one on one time with Wrævn. We had a great summer with lots of playing and exploring. I'm sure the Fall and Winter will bring different adventures our way.
