LASIK ROCKS!!!

I had LASIK surgery last night and I'm TOTALLY LOVING LIFE!

I now have 20/10 vision, and it could possibly get better.

The procedure took all of about 10 - 15 min. for both eyes.

First they prop open your eyes ala Clockwork Orange, which is good, because I can't stand having things in my eyes (e.g. eyedrops). Then this little vacuum comes down and sucks up your eyeball (hence the burst blood vessels in my eyes in the picture above). Then, as it raises the eyeball, a laser (no razor blades anymore!) cuts open a flap in your cornea. Once both flaps have been made, you move to a new machine that blasts your retinas w/ a bajillion lasers that look like an iTunes audio audio visualization. Then you're done.

My eyes burned for about an hour on the way home. I then slept for about 12 hours (oh yeah- they gave me valium and Tylenol PM :-) ). I woke up w/ 20/10 vision and now I just put eye drops in every waking hour, on the hour for 2 weeks, then a little less the next 2 weeks and I'm done. Crazy huh? It's soooo cool being able to see w/out corrective lenses after 20 years.

Everyone should have LASIK done after they're 30. It's the bee's knees!
